The plants growing in the Himalayas are smaller in size due to their exposure to the harsh climatic conditions, and the growing season is short. The blooming takes place usually from May/June to mid September. Many plants here have medicinal properties, and are used in the Amchi Medicine System of Tibet, and Ladakh.
